Poet and Photographer and Creative Omnivore living and working somewhere probably north of you.

in the space between carefully chosen words

This is a post I am not happy to share. I’ve had a new poem published on the periodicities blog. Though I am grateful for rob mclennan and his bottomless well of poetic and publishing energy, today is a reminder of other sad days.

This poem is in response to the passing of Doug Barbour. I’ve shared a little bit on social media about how important Doug was to me as a reader, a listener, a poet, an editor, and, most of all, a person. The last time I saw Doug in person was at an Olive reading, shortly before the pandemic shut everything down. I was able to buy him a drink to thank him for blurbing Lunatic Engine. We talked about the launch and just how breathtakingly beautiful is the atmosphere of Jupiter.

I remain. Breathless.

About the blog

Named after my first book, which was published in 2020, Lunatic Engine the Blog is a collection of micro-reviews and short posts about the things that are driving my creativity, things that I hope will resonate with you, things I believe deserve more attention.
